Showstopper in code is when it affects the operation so drastically that the code does not operate. This is a bug for sure. It has been fixed in Beta and when RM releases a new version it will reflect.

    Thanks,

Oh Ok,I thought showstopper meant that people would refrain buying or using the product because of it's flaws,I am at a loss though why a simple software update couldn't have been put out as this Bug has been going on for quite awhile and RM appears to know what's causing it and has fixed it in the new version.
Things like this put people off from buying a product and should be taken care of SAP.
Anyways it's good to know a fix is coming, hopefully sooner than later LOL

    Hick Thanks this.

I don't have control over business decisions... I can query my boss to find out if RM will put out an interim update to correct this.

    Thanks,

I wasn't putting the onus on you in this matter.I know how large corporations work and sometimes they lose sight of small but important things. With todays new trucks with their large dashboards sometimes the gps units are located an arms length or further away and having to manually adjust them while driving and having to take your eyes off the road for even a very short time could be very hazardous and in a lot of places Illegal, that was mainly my point.
What you do here in this forum is invaluable and very much appreciated and hopefully some of the comments here will be forwarded to the powers to be as they may not look at things the same way that those who make a living using their products do.

I know, but I had to put that Disclaimer in for others who read the posts. LOL

I always look at everything from a drivers point of view. For those who do not know I drove OTR for 3 years, so my perspective is always from the drivers point of view.

    Thanks,
    Mark

OK, I know that there is a thread for Rand McNally products, but I don't have enough patience to go though 317 pages of Q&A....

Here are my questions for Mark, all in regards to TND T80 Tablet

    1) Map Updates
    When will we get maps??????
TND T80 is a high end product, yet, we are stuck with the last years maps. Maps that TND 730 had before the newest map update, which happened last year. Garmin receives map updates every 3 months, on the dot, and I'm stuck on the 2014 maps, even know I spent $500 for the "flagship" Rand McNally product.

    2) Software updates
My latest software is from June this year, and a huge number of Speed, tolls and bridge tolls are out of date. Since June, I haven't received any updates. It is unacceptable for a high end, "flagship" product

    3) Tablet itself
I do realize that the TND T80 is a low end, cheap Chinese tablet, probably in a $50 - $80 range, but we are paying for the software, and I'm OK wit that.
But, my issue is that I can't update any App, because it shows that there is no storage?!?!?!
Is there a fix for that?
    I'm enclosing pics..

I asked the Mod's to move this to the support thread... when they do, I will respond. No sense in opening another thread for support.

OK, it's in the support thread now...

Hopefully, it won't get lost in 317 pages

When you load apps, many will allow you to install on an External SD Card, you can use up to a 64gb micro SD Card. Also, make sure you delete anything in .lost dir, this is the trash can. It will hold storage space.

The maps/version should be out Oct/Nov as of the last word.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So, why do we have to wait for 2014 map update for two years?

And what about my second question, software updates? It's still stuck on June.... 1.0.28.3791
