A couple weeks ago, about 5pm on a Friday, I saw a guy a standing by the fuel desk looking at a piece of paper as if it was from his wife saying she was running off with the roto rooter guy.
    His eyes were glazed over
I glanced at the cat ticket
    83,500
If said, you better go back
He looked up as his eyes teared up and said, they're closed til Monday.

    Lepton1 and ZhenyaP1991 Thank this.

If I'm ever dumb enough to eat at a TA I get the booth nearest the bathroom.

Yeah, I try to avoid these. This is how accidents happens. If its other way around, picking up at 10pm. Than its easier.

    Rusty Trawler Thanks this.

And if you get into an accident I would bet the lawyers would be calling the shipper to find out what time you REALLY got loaded. And then it's no KY, no Crisco, no nothing.

    Rusty Trawler Thanks this.

I pick my own loads my own schedule. .. if I'm late it's because of the 2nd coming or something close.

As for dispatchers, they usually get loads from planners. They need to be able to work with many, many variables.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Here's a rare image from my time at Swift of a load planner planning a load. He looks as surprised as I was that the load was going to deliver the day before I picked it up.
