i used to run beads then i started chasing a front end vibration issue. put lots of parts in my front end chewed up 2 sets of steer tires then on the 3rd set of steers (same tire) no beads and i have not had any vibration/shaking problems sense.

as far as plugging the valve stems if you use the cores that come in the bags of beads they wont plug

Before I put this set on I would be lucky to get 90-100K out of steers. New king pings, leaf springs and bushings helped. Shocks. A good alignment. Practically every moving/wear part on my front end including the steering is all new. Rebuilt/replaced all that stuff before this set. Put balanced drums on the brake job. When your front end is right and you have a good balance steers will last. I have heard of guys getting 200K out of Michelins but I like these 399's and can get them cheaper.

You guys using beads for heavy duty truck application or cars? I never used the cores in the bags. Truck beads are larger and shouldn't cause issues.

Use Tyre brand comes with core and they have a screen on them.
Just what I use maybe balance rings are better?
After reading rollin cool I may rethink this!
    Nice to have these conversations.

I have the balance rings also and with the beads , I've put about a thousand miles on them now and all I feel are the imperfections in the road .
Sure don't miss my firestones !

I tossed my centramatics away. They're no good. How can a tube about 3/4" in diameter balance out a tire that's 8-9" wide? It can't. Then think about the ones between your drives. They do absolutely nothing.

I installed beads in my tires and put centering sleeves on all my wheel studs. My truck rides smooth as silk even with retreads on the drives.

A long time ago I remember some talk about a liquid tire media for balancing that had good results.

Yes have centering rings, and the with the balancing beads does grate with all the mud I deal with.
Like I said nice positive conversation!

Maybe I should stir things and throw Trump and Clintons name in here :).
