"ministry" means at best (and I hope it is so) that one desires to be helpful and supportive to others.
In it's more common application, the term refers to one who desires egotistical dominion over others.

Religion is the easy way out for those who want to feel good about themselves without doing the actual work of enlightenment. To whom shall we preach? Resourceful example is the only leadership worth following; the world is full of superstition and credulity and demagoguery and every way imaginable to avoid personal responsibility. Terms such as "minister" and "pastor" and "priest" have become titles to live down rather than live up. Those who resort to such tired tropes are usually (though not always) the most nict-voyant and self serving among us and concerned far more with public image than private virtue.

Anyone who self-styles themselves such as these is asking for and deserving of our most rigorous scrutiny.
