Overkill would be a gimble stove so you could boil water while driving down I-10.
Don't bolt a mast to the catwalk and you'll be ok. I always thought a Refleks stove in a big bunk truck would give it a nice 'nautical' feel. Keep us posted as it comes along.

I still might to a gimble stove. It looks cool and I would rather be on the water some days than sitting in traffic!
I should have time in the next few days to draw up my latest idea for a layout. It includes putting a way up between the ####pit and sleeper area and making the need a full size that will sit above the ####pit, completely closing that area off. The bed will then be able to fold up past the wall like a sleeper couch kind of does so you fold everything up and be able to stand in the back completely.
The bed well run front to back along the passenger side of the truck leaving almost 30" between the side of the bed and the driver side of the truck. If I do it right I can make it so the upper sleeper area can be closed off from the lower portion if you have a guest along. My grandmother wants to ride with me and she snores so loud it puts the vovlos with the leaky air compressor and rattling engine to shame, lol. So having some kind of separation like that would be helpful.Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
Maybe if I'm lucky enough to get a good design and set up going I could stop driving and do conversions like this for drivers, lol.

Webasto makes diesel fired water heaters.

I'll look into that. They weren't coming up on searches for a deisle fuel water heater. I know they have a lot of cool stuff in the UK that doesn't seem to make it over here.

If your putting a generator on maybe something like this would work.

Looks really cool. I had looked into some of these options, but I didn't want to swap out the apu I have in the truck already for a model with a generator. That's why trying to keep everything run off of a single fuel source. By making the water heater something that doesn't use an electric element I can keep the power invertor at or around 3,000 watts and that will give me enough power to run everything else in the truck I want to run

Particularly interested in the your solution to HVAC, ductwork and such to make an upper bunk livable.redoctober83 Thanks this. -
Thanks. The truck I have, came with an APU on it already. I'll just rerun the duct work from that so it's blowing from the top down instead of the bottom up. The APU I have keeps my truck nice and cold as it is now, so I am thinking once I move the vents up, i'll end up with a freezer in here
