At WS I got paid for every mile driven. If I had to go more than 10% - 15% out of route for anything (Storms, Accidents, Etc) I just told dispatch upfront and they'd send a new QC and pay me the extra. No problems.

It's folks that would abuse the system that make other companies do what Abilene does. Just saying.

If we have to go out of route for storms, riots, etc, we do get paid those extra miles. Dispatch just needs to be in the loop BEFOREHAND. Like when it flooded in GA and SC last year. Accidents, nah, they won't pay. Unless you're routed like 50 miles out of route because of one, who cares?

Implying? No. I believe you said it outright that you'd add a 100 miles to every trip. Although, I suppose I may have forgotten my English. :p lol

Upstate NY is pretty...in the summer. You have some bigger cities, but it's nice. Haven't been to ME (and don't want to go there), but we do sometimes have loads that way.

Yes, if you have a truck that absolutely won't idle no matter what you do, it does suck. Several of us have given you suggestions on how to get around that. I myself PMd you on that.

Put a small piece of duct tape or whatever over the LED light and viola! Problem solved.

If you are driving, it is within the company's right to see what you are doing, so... I don't particularly care for the driver facing camera either, but they are there and it wasn't a surprise that they are.

When I am off duty (loading, unloading, etc) I put a business card with piece of tape over it if I still want the sun to get in. If I'm shut down for the night, my curtains are closed. I have no issue with it.

You are technically off duty, but you still are responsible for that truck and freight within no matter what, that's now why those cameras roll 24/7. Personally, if some ####### hits my truck while I'm parked in the middle of the night, I'm not going to get out and try to give chase like JB did. I'm just going to hit the record button (if an event hasn't already been triggered) and let safety get the details off the footage.

You know, people think I'm angry and #####y, but I think sometimes you've got me beat, dude. And I do mean that in the nicest possible way.

Welp, apparently Hill Phoenix is on vacation (or strike) cause there's a whole lot of us with loads in the QC for days now and still none ready to roll.

I suggested to the drivers that all of us in that situation bobtail over there and offer to help build them. But we think 27 or more trucks showing up might intimidate them a touch. ... lol
