Does it work in your truck? This one works if the truck isn't moving.

Yeah, it's in the top left corner of the "information center" display where the -- is. It should be a compass.

I just took this during the self test, sometimes it will show direction until the truck starts moving. Just wondering if it stays functioning for anyone.

Nope. Mine goes in and out once every 1k miles or so. For about 2 min at a time or less. It's always weird, I look down at the dash and something looks off. By the time I realize that it's the compass working, it's back to -- again.

I've found out the Qualcomm is messing up the truck but can't tell if it's an issue with the wiring or a software bug, or both. The compass is just one of the things that stops working when the Qualcomm I/O cable is hooked up.

Just wanting to know how many people have this same issue.

Spent a lot of time in shops for nothing trying to figure out what's wrong. Truck is gutless and runs like garbage, slow throttle response, cruise control lags, noisy transmission, bad fuel mileage. Noticed when it's at its worst the QC is also crashing alot.

I unplugged the I/O cable from the QC and it was a like a totally different truck. About half a dozen odd quirks in the truck vanished.

The QC also has problems with the sound, text to speech, output. How it likes to steal sound from one side of the truck. I think this is a bigger bug than it seems.

I've noticed when you set it to external it will steal the sound when certain screens are displayed on the QC. The sound will return if you switch back to Settings>Speakers. It seems like if you leave it somewhere where it steals the speakers, like performance monitoring, and leave it for a while things start acting funny. It will lock up frequently and eventually crash...

Ive noticed an improvement in the truck if I leave the QC on a screen that doesn't steal the sound. Fuel mileage is up, holds better on hills, cruise functions better, faster throttle response, shifts better... Not completely better, but a noticeable improvement. It's really strange.

It helps to disconnect the truck battery for a few minutes to reset the computer(s) before trying this.

I took a look at the wiring harness for the I/O cable and it looked relatively cool proof to hook up. Most of it plugged into the factory wiring with the exception of the wiring for the speakers and trailer tracs. Not looking good.

So this is a known issue with the 2015 and newer trucks. It's not just at Prime either. It has to do with the ecm trying to decide which computer to listen to. Qc says it's not there fault freightliner says it's not there fault either so no one will look into the issue and fix it. It's also why the clock on info center is never correct. If you change the clock on the qc, it'll change the time on the info center. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the issue the trucks have is because you have the qc trying to tell the ecm what time it is and they are both fighting with each other. If you find the solution to this problem, you'll make everyone so happy!

A known issue with the clock and compass? What about the performance issues? I think there is more going on.

Where is the clock supposed to display, I don't see it, nor can I find any options in the park menu. Maybe this truck is more broken than others. o_O
