Here is a question as a new IC...when there is short haul drop and hook freight that has a next day delivery, will some/most customers allow you to drop same day? So far I've been doing ok for my first week out, but I've seen a couple good loads that I could have put 2-3 together for the same day, but they have a 24+ hour turn around on 200 miles

Some will, some won't. Some will levy a fine for an early delivery. The only way to know is to call and ask your contact at SNI. They will get in touch with Customer Service and let you know. After a while you'll have a feel for which customers are ok with and early delivery, but always check to make sure.

    Lying on an empty call....

What happens if detention happens for 12+ hours after that "empty call"?
What happens if there's a cargo claim after you send in your "empty call"?

Then Schneider will ask why did you send in your empty call when you werent empty?
Messing around with BS like this gives more reason for Schneider to give high service loads to company trucks when ICs play stupid games like this.

Boy did cs screw up this time...show up to pick up a load to Palestine tx and after live loading find out the load is going to Sealy tx....shpr gave me copies of the emails to sni showing that sni knew the load was going to Sealy and posted wrong information on load board...the shpr also gave me the tender sheet showing load destination...now they got fix so I know what the rate is and whether or not I want to even haul it...being that I have another load from p&g back to houston...a 200+mi dh...don't think so...

I bet some IC ran out of hours on Monday. Did his empty call, and got up the next morning to run his load, and his truck broke down.

PoleCrusher, TennMan and drvrtech77 Thank this.
