Check the VIN plate of the individual trailer. It SHOULD have the manufacturer certified empty weight on it. That is, of course, if you can read the blasted thing. Schneider has some fairly old and road worn trailers still floating arounf.gentleroger and workingklasshero Thank this.
-
None that I have checked have had the tare weight listed, including the Wabash series 9 I'm pulling now...
I would have thought same. -
Huh! All the decks I've dragged over the past three years had the empty weights on the VIN plate. Interesting.

This one has tire pressure, axle capacity, everything but...Last edited: Sep 30, 2016

Gross weight yes, empty no. I'll check the next GD and Hyundai I pull
workingklasshero Thanks this. -

mindes Thanks this. -
Whoever decided to crank the landing gear on this trailer... can die in fire. Yard jockey for putting it this close to the trailer next to it.. the same.
Bo Hunt, freightwipper, 91B20H8 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Landing gear Hercules strikes again! He sure gets around.
freightwipper, 91B20H8 and Friday Thank this. -
I had one of those today. Even lifting the suspension up I wasn't even close. Good thing I'm not a little person (hey! not a super big fat person either) but boy did it suck.
And they teach to scale anything over 30k or going to CA and anything crossing a border at ADTC here in Chicago. I've scaled loads that the paperwork said 40k even thought I knew the second I pulled forward it wasn't heavy.
Like other people said it is their dime...well 11 dollars now lol
