I actually had a driver that had to do this recently. He was 50 lb over and there was a weigh station about 5 miles away. This was a really well paying load and a good shipper so I didn't want to make them remove anything. I told him to go the opposite way for about 15 miles then turn around and drive where he needs to. He did it and weighed in at 79,998 lb. If we were in a hurry, I could've also had him just throw away some dunnage.Lucy in the Sky Thanks this.

That seems kind of pointless. Scales all have a tolerance, usually +/- 200 lbs. I seriously doubt anyone is getting a ticket for 50 lbs over.
50 lbs is .000625% of 80K. -
Idk... I got hassled in Cali for being one hole off the Cali mark. He told me Ive been warned. I then went about my day running all of my governor still getting passed by other rigs lol

Bridge law is different, you can run all day and that setting won't change, you drive 50 miles and you have shed the 50 lbs.Big Don Thanks this.

I know, just saying they can be real sticklers if they really want to be.

From Japan no doubt... they're weird like that.

And they usually do... I think you got very lucky not to get scratched for that. I have heard that those bridge law violations in Cali are ridiculously high. No first hand knowledge of it though.
