Great point, Red. Thanks. Yeah, they seem like a shyster outfit to me but by all means, if anybody has had good luck with em, jump in. No axe to grind here.

I skipped ahead so I do not know if this has been pointed out.
In Mathematics somewhere along the line you should have heard of the associative property of multiplication. The 25% number is what your share of the business is. You are paying for 25% of the cost of operation and receiving 25% of the Revenue. .25(Revenue - Cost) = .25(Revenue) - ,25(cost). Focus of the % and not the net versus gross term.
25% is low. 30% is about right. Remember if you are being 1099'ed that you need another 7.5% of your 30% for Social Security. That brings your cut up to 32.25% of the Net. When he puts up and argument about that ask about Workers Comp Insurance. Then check to see if there is a pair somewhere in you pants and walk.
When anyone works cheap they hurt us all.Mecic68w Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply, very good information. No need to worry about the pair in my pants. I'm very straight forward with people and I don't work cheap haha

I get paid 25% of gross revenue to the truck. NOTHING should be deducted for ANY operating costs, that's the responsibility of the OWNER.
I've heard of similar situations, where an owner will deduct fuel (and ONLY fuel). But then the percentage is in the 40-50% range. This puts some driver skin in the cost side of the equation.
Trailer rent? Anything like that is sheer idiocy. The company owner already has established him or herself as a self centered douche. You can bet the farm they will be hell to work for.Mecic68w Thanks this. -
Yeah, I'm not even considering that douchebag outfit but want to lead him on via email so I can post some screen shots of this bullcrap
Lepton1 Thanks this. -

25% is low if they are hauling for garbage rates. -
Yeah and these are hazmat loads. I'm new to that so wouldn't know what to expect hauling hazmat loads on percent. What's standard? I know they pay the company more so the driver would get more money, even at 25 but was curious what going rate was. Thanks
