    This is really kindof stupid. We can haul 2 coils up to 120,000lbs, but thats only if you meet the bridge laws. Most permits don't go that heavy, the heaviest one i've ever had was 116,000lbs. The stupid part of this whole thing is that they think 3 coils at 120,000lbs is different than 2 coils at 120,000lbs.

    I really just wish they would do away with permit loads all together. There are to many idiots that seem to think you can haul at a cheaper rate if your hauling twice the weight!

    Three 45k coils? That seems a little excessive. Heavier trucks are not the answer. Heavier trucks equals more danger. Just the shippers trying to get more for less.

    It's nothing new in this area the DOT burns these heavy haulers constantly with the mobile scales.
