Hurst, make dang sure that nut you found isn't from the top of your engine. Just stand there and eyeball the rack with the valve covers off, take your time look multiple times to be sure! I'm will in to bet it is a lose connection or pinched wire like wore out said if there isn't anything missing.

    Hurst Thanks this.

I just reread the one post. You had the harness from the ecm to the cab replaced if I'm understanding correct. Make sure none of the wires are connected incorrectly. Do you still have the old harness?

    Hurst Thanks this.

Can you quote or post pics of repair order story from CAT and Freightliner? That might give us some insight into what is going on.

Right now my mpg is down by about .75 mpg compared to where I normally am. Not sure if this is due to the lower hp file.. or the tune is really that much off.

I know I sound like a broken record repeating this.. but all I can say for certain right now is that she is not running right. Something is a miss.

Not running rough or feel any hard miss. Its just down on power and not how it was running before all of this started.

I'll get it sorted out and back to the way it was. Feeling kinda bent over after having spent so much money only to get a truck returned back in this condition.

I have yet to find a decent Freightliner shop where I can honestly say I received good service. I normally get great service through CAT.. how ever I'd like to add Louisiana CAT to my black list of places never to go back to.

Yes.. CAT wouldnt do it. Said Freightliner had to d9nthe oem harness.

Only way I would know if its right or wrong, I'd need a diagram or cheat sheet to show me exactly how its supposed to be connected. Other wise I honestly have no idea. I have no choice but to trust Freightliner did it correctly.

Hopefully I dont yet the run around from CAT tomorrow and they get everything working like its supposed to be. Then I'll work my way back home and get the ecm retuned back to the way I had it.

Come to think of it.. I never got great fuel mileage when it was with the stock tune. I picked up about .5 mpg after the 500/1850 file was put in.

Edit: No, I do not have the old harness. Should I have asked for it?

I can do that for you guys in the morning. I have both CAT and Freightliners repair orders and bills here with me.

Gonna hit the rack for now. I feel tomorrow might be a long day for me.
