Cannot get any distance out of my CB set up - need help

    that was my suggestion..basic cobra1 coax 1 ant..Seems he has height issues cause he hauls in alot of back roads with trees and on farms..

    As soon as I get some free time I will dig in the dash and swap everything to a single antenna, from there I can get a new mount and new antenna's as needed.

    I know some Freightliners have the mirror bracket attached with pop pins. Shake loose very easily. A Wilson 2000 or similar will bend and flex a whole lot more than fiberglass!!!!!

    You must be talking about the whip flexing.
    It is difficult to bend a 3/8" shaft. Partly why I would recomment a longer shaft and shorter whip.

    That is true but pulling a hopper around means low clearance. More flex would be a good thing for him. Seen plenty of long fiberglass antennas broke in tight grain elevators.

    Exactly. If its long it needs to be more flexible.
