Should I feel guilty for calling police?

Anything helps. I last called 911 a few weeks ago when an impaired driver nearly clipped my hood driving through Rapid City, SD; 250 miles later, by Mitchell, SD I see the same car on the side of the road with the driver in the back of a squad car. Sure, it took them a while, but they got their man!

 

They should add another award to this forum for snitching! Lol

I call 911 at least once a month. Usually on somebody drunk, falling asleep, or playing on there phone. I can never tell which one it is it is but they are all over the road. As for two flat tires, if you can get up next to them blow the air horn. I'm guessing it was a western express? In that case just let them go on their way. That's how they like to operate over there.

Who cares... hopefully the police did their job and addressed a public safety issue... and no one died or was injured or even had a minor insurance claim on a broken windshield.

The OP did the right thing by "ratting him out"!!!

When it comes to addessing a potential safety issue on the public roads... and is clueless that another driver is trying to get his attention... that drivers isn't in my "brotherhood"... you can have him in yours.

And as a secondary issue, just what frame of mind was that driver in that he couldn't notice, or didn't care, that someone with lights and horns was trying to get his attention... not saying we can hear everything inside our cabs but he was obviously clueless about the environment that he was driving in as well.

Really? And if that tire came off or caused another tire to fail because it's now overloaded... Hey, it's all cool cause he was staying in his own lane???? Unbelievable.

 

Better safe than sorry... even if he was on the other side making a call already... why chance it by assuming.

And part of the LEOs job is to "serve and protect"... calling the cops doesn't mean anyone will get a ticket or lose their CDL... cop pulls up... brings the issue of concern and safety to the attention of the driver and the problem is addressed and fix and everyone goes home safe and alive at the end of the day.

And if he is on the other side of the truck and already addressing the issue what harm is it that a cop shows up???

No one is pretripping his truck for him... someone saw a potential public safety issue and called it in... who cares if someone's 10 was interrupted...

This is the "Brotherhood of Twue Twuckers" that I am glad that I am NOT a part off.

After the inspection the officer can give him a citation for not securing his load! (Tree limb on cab)

Some either just don't get it or prefer to make excuses for other truckers... I just hope their families don't feel the impact of others turning a blind eye to such things.
