This is always annoying.
I break and slow down for them, but, it's completely annoying.
So who here is one of those drivers that will cut off the right-laner as soon as you get a chance because the one or two or three cars are on your tail?
Do 4 wheelers and other trucks pressure you to cut off the right laners sooner than necessary?

I don't cut off anybody.In fact I often forget how slow others are and by the time I look in the mirror they are like half a mile behind.
blairandgretchen, magoo68, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
I stay in the left lane until there is either enough following distance for the car or truck that I just passed, or until the tailgater behind me tries to cut over to pass me on the right. In the latter case, I straddle the center line until the space between me and the car that I just passed becomes appropriate.
FWIW, I won't pass unless I can maintain my speed at least at the posted speed limit.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
About a truck length, if the 4wheeler want to pass on the right of me then go ahead but most of the time they wait.
If I'm climbing a hill in the hammer lane and see a speeding truck catching up, I might cut it half a truck length. Once you lose speed going up a hill, it's hard to get it back.
But yeah it is annoying for these dumb nuts who is faster than me still cut it close enough to wipe the bugs off my bumper. -
I try to allow plenty of space. Often, the truck I'm passing will flash their lights to let me know it is safe to come on over even before I feel comfortable doing so. Having said that, when I have a line of impatient drivers right on my bumper just itching to pass me on the right, I do feel pressured to get over as soon as possible. If I have a line of impatient drivers behind me, then about the time I reach the front quarter of the vehicle I'm passing I usually begin signaling my intention to return to the right lane. More often than not, this results in the vehicle on my tail waiting for me to move back over instead of impatiently passing me on the right. But not always...some people are ridiculously impatient.

How I pass::
How they pass::
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
If you see my lights flash that means come on over ..if you see my middle finger that means you are a non driver and should ride the bus .
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Here's my take on this. Sometimes I will come over sooner than I like, but it's not because I'm intimidated. I feel my coming over close is safer for the guy I just passed than to have a 4 wheeler bust a move to pass me on the right and wipe out in front of the truck and cause a potential catastrophe.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Lol a 4 wheeler was showing me finger yesterday because I wasn't going to slow down to let him merge.
And it's very uncool to be showing finger to fellow trucker.Hope you have a fast truck because I am usually laid back but if I was having a bad day plus your finger you would find yourself either going 40 mph or stuck in the left lane @ whatever your max is.
But like I am saying I am cool,I used to get impatient and angry.If you were blocking middle lane at 60 mph I would pass you on the right and slow down to 40mph."Yeah I can go slow too buddy.How does it feel now?"
Nowadays I am like "Whatever".
