Now if you was leased to Landstar, you could not go on a public load board and book loads. I suppose you could book off Landstar's board. Just call the agent who has the load. Someone from Landstar could book off the public load boards. If not you are pretty limited on what you can do. You need to know how to access freight other than Landstar's.

Thanks guys!!
Fyi, I'm planning on leasing with Landstar. -
Hope it works out for you, however, there is no guarantee you will be accepted. While I don't know the specifics of their eligibility / selection process for "business capacity owners", Landstar is a rather structured and disciplined company.
Rodrigazo678 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the advice!!!! I'm working on maximizing my chances. Doing a lot of homework!

So how did landstar work out for you? Did you get it and how is it?
-
I am assuming by now you have the correct answer? We have been with Landstar in their Hotshot division close to 2 years now. We get our freight off the load board. It is up to you to find your freight; choose the pay per mile, weight, length, width and height you prefer and if you need to tarp or no tarp. No forced dispatch. You make the money you want to make. Expenses/overhead is always high for owner operators regardless of what company you choose. Lots of companies out there, they all promise get things, remember the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. You get what you put into it. Lanstar is a good company to be with.Lite bug and Skate-Board Thank this.

Anyone still with landstar hotshot division? Contemplating signing up. I run under my own authority, do they keep it that way or run under their numbers? Thanks
