I totally agree with you about "keeping moving" to earn more for a driver's time, rather than unloading, etc. It is especially true when being paid "by the mile", rather than guaranteed daily pay (whether I roll or not). Also, every employer should be PAYING EXTRA to drivers that assist... SLT does.
Thanks for the comment... and be careful about your back and trying to lift with yer legs as much as possible. >

Hi Looney, uh, I Mean Jackal... yeah, the five weeks out is a deal-breaker for most, but it is also a big reason why the pay is very good. The "positive" side is that I've banked/saved a good amount of money over the past year. But... is it worth not having any friends when I do get home? Or my dog forgetting who I am? It is starting to weigh more heavily as time moves forward... but at least we do have choices, right? I'm grateful for that.thejackal Thanks this.

Does Tribe Transport have pet policy? They're near you.

HI China- thanks for the suggestion. Just fyi, his one sounds like the exact type of work I want... but according to website, applicants must have 5yrs driving experience. I'm only at 2.5yrs...
Thanks for all the helpful posts you make on TTR- I appreciate you. -
How far are you away from Davis Transfer, Carnesville Ga? Newish trucks for the most part. You can probably take your truck home during off team. Basically South East, work as many weeks as you want. However only required to work one weekend a month.

I don't think the website is up to date, but I'll find out. @ethosSoutheast Trucker Mike Thanks this.

Was about to suggest my company, but you said no flatbed. we are having a hard time finding drivers because the hourly pay that is advertised seems low, however, we make over 60,000/ year over here in New Mexico with all the overtime. Lots of loading and unloading off flatbed trailers with a lift gate. We also do tanker, but right now we need 2 route drivers for flatbed. I'm home nightly with a few exceptions here and there, some overnight stays in a motel. Weekends and holidays off too. They also need drivers in parts of Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, and Omaha. I can't tell you what the drivers make in those other states, but we do alright here where I'm at. I can send you link to our career site if you would like.
