Treasure island, in the SF bay. I went there to pick up one of those little tractors, bobcat or whatever they're called. There was some kind of problem with it and I had to stay until the next morning. I kicked back on the beach all day. I could hear the crowd noise from the Giants game. It was really cool.

I loaded out of there 3 nights a week while putting myself thru college. (82-84). I learned more at STL Produce Row than I did at school! Only thing worse was backing a trailer to a rail car in East STL at night and hand off loading 400 one hundred pound bags of potatoes while listening to the sounds of thieves off in the distance hammer rail car doors open for their nightly bounty!

Slept 12 hrs in the right lane on I40 in TN a few years back when they had a bad ice storm.. Trooper came walking down the center of the road in the morning waking everybody up. Driving east there was 100's of snowmen along the shoulder along with 100s of cars that ran out of gas overnight. Made it about an hour down the road then sat in one spot for 5 more hours .

I don't know about weird. I guess sleeping across a proper intersection protected by 4 way stop signs due to a ice storm ongoing is one place. You never really sleep.

Another would be pulled into a normal herd of assorted trucks at a grocery store lot in horseheads NY, Elmira area one evening went to bed, woke up surrounded by a carnival. They did leave a path for me to get out. It was... not my finest hour. I guess myself was not that far removed in appearence than some of the carnies bolting rides together.

A third would be against a cliff in West Virginia as a hurricane moved through with gusting winds. looking back on it I could have picked a better place but we made do. What with the dents in the trailer wall.

West Texas. Surrounded by nothing. 100 miles from anything. It was a very beautiful night what with all those stars. What sleep? Did you know there are thousands times ten thousand stars you never see in all your life because of light pollution?

Turkey Point nuclear power plant just south of Homestead fla, next to the cooling canal.

This was back in the 80's, security was pretty much non existent. Spent the night with a Phillipines worker catching hammer head sharks that came in too feed on the zillions of fish in the very warm water.

At a submarine pen under a giant roof someplace I'm still not supposed to mention. The one I delivered too was diesel, when they fired that thing up next morning I felt it in my bones. Even the water it was sitting in vibrated.

Best one was a missile silo in no where middle America, clear skies and billions and billions of stars.

On my old route I used to park on an active rail line every Friday. Had a customer who has an active rail line in there parking lot.
