One of my real pet peeves about local work. Add in Saturdays and many times you have the same, or even less of, a life than an OTR regional driver.
Looking to go local, need advice...

good. Company assumes since the truck doesn't go over any scales being
legal isn't so important.
Some local company don't have any benefits, no health insurance, etc....
Try to find a terminal close to where you live. I live about 10 minutes from
the yard. Take all back roads to get there. Coming back after a long day isn't
so bad when I hit the front door 10 minutes after shutting the truck door. -

That's basically the hours I work. I live in Kansas City MO and there is a TON OF THOSE JOBS. Look into intermodal aka "trash cans".

Your ideal job may be tough to find but I'm sure you can find something close. The key is you're willing to get off the couch and internet to make your way. -
