Our trucks in Boston have the stairs for the side same with our B-Trains up in Canada. GFS Ontario has all kinds of stuff and most of the trailers in Toronto are 30'-32' B Trains and they have the steps.

Well the week prior I had 950 cases and 1085 cube, so I would imagine my cube for that route I mentioned was somewhere around 1200. 50 footer, I only had 2 empty pallet spots in the whole dang trailer. Half a pallet on the rear passenger side -- otherwise it was 100% full.

Ah ok, I've seen those Chipotle branded trailers before in the background of an unrelated picture on a trucker FB page, always wondered what the deal was on that. They probably do mix them -- Chipotles used to be delivered on carts that you just rolled into the stores (after bringing them off the trailer with the liftgate) back when Martin Brower had them. Now we just 2-wheeler them into the store down the ramp like every other chain account.
Martin Brower does McDonalds in the southeast, and they used to have Chipotle around 4 years ago, probably because of McDonalds having such a large stake in Chipotle until somewhere around 2005 when they sold all their shares. I guess their logistics teams just decided to still work together. Chipotle went to Reinhardt down here for 2 years and then hopped to us. Allegedly, they want GFS to deliver them nationwide, so that is helping fuel GFS' continued westward expansion. Not sure how much of that I believe, but that's the story from management, so there you go.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
A fun trick for when you have a 50 footer and don't want to lug the ramp all over the place for every stop (or for when you have most of your pup cleared out) -- put a loadbar right on the edge of the door inside the trailer at a slight angle so that you have a little open-ended triangle between the loadbar, the trailer wall, and the opening. Then put your ramp up into the trailer, underside of it facing you. Use the brace that's about a foot from the bottom of the ramp on the underside to grab the ramp and slam it into the open-ended triangle. If you get the angle of the loadbar right, it will hold that ramp right in place until you get to your next stop and you just snatch it right out from the door. I can post a pic next week to illustrate a little better.Mike2633 Thanks this.

Unrelated to anything -- Reinhardt Atlanta is dramatically downsizing/shutting down. Heard it here first.
Currently they do Burger King, Jim n Nicks, Tazikis, and several other accounts. They're losing Jim n Nicks and Tazikis.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
McDonalds still does Chipolte up here. As far as Chipolte nation wide well will believe it when we see it. Those branded trailers must be from the McDonalds days.
Anderson-DuBoise uses the carts like Martin Brower that must be a McDonalds thing. -
Rainey day all day.
Oh @Pintlehook I got a Heinens for you:
Not the best picture but it's one of there older Kenworths. There fleet is so clean all the time they must wash there trucks twice a day everyday.
I have never seen dirt on a Heinens truck never a dent, scratch , rust doesn't matter how old or new there trucks always look new. They park then inside I don't know how many trucks they have probably 12-15 if I had to guess. Some older some newer. I think there pretty strict company to drive for probably not allowed to have trash in the truck or any thing.Pintlehook Thanks this. -
Pretty easy Friday. Ran up the west side of The Mitten to Muskegon. Stopped off at the farm to pick up bins of apples and grapes. If it were only so easy to just jump on the forklift at any vendor and load the stuff ourselves.
I was at a hospital in St. Joe, MI and was wheeling my cart in and a Gordon's driver asked me if I was cold because I was wearing a hoodie and a stocking cap. Then he mumbled something about not working fast enough or hard enough. Heh. It was a good day.
The grapes I picked up were called Blue Grapes. I tasted a few and immediately it reminded me of grape pop.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Typical GFS driver LOL don't worry about them.
