I just don't see the point of taking a losing load to get to point b. Seems like Metrogistics starts posting the 21 cpm loads and everyone follows, they just posted call kind of crap out of Mira Loma as low as 19 cpm.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.

Supply and Demand.... Like stated above..someone is taking those loads. It will never change

Well I for one am not standing for it. On central I saw a car coming from Pensacola to sw Miami for $100. I called the broker. And this is what I said word for word." Me"- Hello I'm calling about the car in Pensacola going to Miami. "Broker"- yes it's available. "Me"- no I was wondering was that a miss print about the price? Broker- yes it should be $140. Me- so your saying you want someone to haul a car on there truck 674 miles for $100? You have to be kidding me, that's an insult to car haulers in Florida. The average cost for insurance for a 4 car hauler is between $1500- $2000 a month, not only that the only way to get to that pt of sw Miami is by taking the toll Rd with is $25. Not including the fuel $250. Now tell me do you think b it's worth anyone's time to take this car for you? Broker- no and I see what your saying, I'll call the guy and tell him it's going to more. The next morning I look at Central and yes he changed it. I don't understand the haulers in South Florida. That load was only paying .11 cents a mile. I'm going to talk with dot then hopefully a representative or senate or something. The government can regulate all these rules and laws for truckers but yet they can't regulate the price of loads, and don't tell me they cant.
Iamkingbigant and Viceroy1 Thank this. -
I even saw cars posted from miami to Dallas Texas $375 . That's 1543 miles. I mean I have to question the ######### that do the load. Is there any education in Florida or what.

Calling senators is a waste of everyone's time involved. Just let the cheap carriers circle the drain and by the time volume picks back up so will the price. Supply and demand applies to our business just like anything else.
In the meantime use the cpm and minimum per vehicle filter on CD so you don't go crazy lolmisterG and nightsprince Thank this. -
Part of the simple truth is that a lot of "brokers" that came in really have had no training or have no idea about what it costs to run a truck. Some of them also simply don't care. They check the zips on central and post their order for at least $50-$100 lower than the lowest rate that was previously accepted. If they see that a "small car" went for $700, and everything else went for $825+, instead of quoting the customer at $825+ to ship their SUV along the lane, they'll quote at $700 total for the order, with $600 to the carrier and try to make their money by cutting our rate.
One of the main reasons this happens is because most brokers buy the same leads from online lead generating websites. These lead providing websites then sell the lead to at LEAST 6-8 brokers who then all have to fight each other to get the order. Sometimes, lead providers actually buy leads from ANOTHER lead providing company who has also sold the lead to a first group of brokers, so you end up with over 12-15 DIFFERENT brokers all calling the same customer to try to get the sale.
A lot of the time they end up having to lowball the quote just to get the order & then hope & pray that a carrier will haul it for them. I've seen it first hand, it's not pretty.passingthru69 Thanks this.
