Depends on the location you deliver to. Some places come all the way in and get it you just tell em what to get. Some you have to tailgate. We do box furniture, and sofas and chairs from a ton of different places. The good thing is the sofas are loaded on end so all you do is roll a dolly under it and roll it. Very little heavy lifting. It's all LtL but the stops are how we make son much money. Some stops get 1 piece, some stops get 20 but one piece pays exactly the same so it all works out. It's not a hard job and I don't have to drive 3500 miles a week to make great money.
Are there any good local jobs in Dallas

I hit 3 docks in 30 mins some days. But I just made $60 for 30 mins of works too. If I drove for 30 mins I'd make like $12 lol. So yeah I'm good with stops. Plus I get plenty of backing practice. I can't put a 53' trailer and sleeper truck in places most won't.
And I don't have to worry about a exercise routine either lol. I get plenty so keeps me from weighing 400lbs. -
Handling the freight is nothing. This is the easiest job I've ever had. Most days I start work around 8 or 9 and I'm done by 3 or 4. Places don't open till then and close early. Most weeks I have 25-30 hrs left on my 70 when I get in for the weekend. It's gravy and the money is a huge plus lol

You will find that in D/FW most jobs want to pay between $9 and $15 with the average being about $14 with most days being 13 or 14 hours a day and no overtime. I looked for 4 months before going OTR. Most of the local jobs want a year experience minimum.. even for that poor pay. Highest positions I found were with Ryder flatbed in Haslet (20.00/hr) and the USPS (19.34/hr with plenty of overtime after 40). I applied to both.. Ryder was filled within a day and USPS put me in a waiting queue... and i've been waiting to hear back since late February. Only you can decide what is adequate pay.. but to me that pay range isn't worth it for the hours of work.

I didn't see it asked, but...
Where in Dallas are you at? If you live up near Plano, but look at a place down near Lancaster, you night not want to do that 1.5 to 2 hour one way drive everyday after working 14 hours...
