By the way, Thank You for your service. And as a proud Virginian i would like to take a minute to apologize for our beautiful Hampton Roads area. The military is what makes it great. The rest looking to suck the blood out of every sailor who steps ashore....ugh not so much.
Rates have been dropping.

They want the rates lower and lower, well so did the shipping companies hauling their containers. Well they got their low rates. But look what happened with Hanjin. Interesting enough I was reading an article in the JOC and the last line almost made me laughg:
"After they secured some of the lowest trans-Pacific rates in years last spring, shippers have a growing sense of just how unsustainable the rates are, and know that no discount, even those below liners’ operating costs, is worth stranded cargo."
This is what it took for them to realize it. I know this is a SNI thread but the rates apply to all of us. For us we do the full service Penske deal but those that want to squeeze the last nickel out of a truck, well when a turbo goes and the owner or company (and most trucking companies are relatively small) doesn't have the money to fix it, well over a few hundred dollars they will possibly lose the load (and maybe and unhappy customer) if the company doesn't get it going right away. But we could scream this as loud as we want, until what happens like what happened with Hanjin we just have to suffer along.Last edited: Oct 27, 2016
