Well, it's that time again to hit the job market. I've been offered by both Bynum, and PTI. I live in Florida, and Bynum is based in FL, and PTI has two yards within two hours from my house. Both offered similar starting pay, Bynum offered .40 and PTI offered .42. Bynum would be traditional OTR, staying out two weeks and home for two days. PTI promises to have you home weekends, for a reset. Now, I realize PTI pays less, but with wait time pay, pay for each stop...it actually balances out. I'm just curious to see what opinions you all may have. Reading reviews on this site it seems both companies seem to be well liked, and no real complaints from either. This is why I'm having a struggle deciding which to go with. Obviously, I would prefer to be home weekends, but if there are any advantages to Bynum I'm not aware of I'd love to hear them. Thanks to all in advance for any input/advice you may have.

(PTI is van, not tanker, but figured for this post it was ok to post here)

I guess with a name like Paper Transporters and several yards in FL, that means you will be hauling roll stock exclusively for your outbound loads. Those loads are always heavy and they're highly unstable and top heavy. I don't know if you've hauled roll stock before but you have to be VERY careful on curves and off ramps. Those things tip over often and can total a trailer when they do. Just something to consider.

I don't really know anything about either company, but PTI trucks always look new and clean and well maintained.

I believe, and I could be wrong, but I believe they haul finished product to customers. Costco, Sam's, grocery stores...Yes, I've hauled paper stock before (I believe). When I was with UPS Freight we picked up those gigantic rolls of paper and I delivered them to a port in PA.

Bynum is basically a milk hauler, I do not know a thing about PTI, but I can comment on any milk hauling outfit and with Bynum you are going to be gone for several weeks at a time. Be prepared to spend hours trying to unload, some dairies take by appointments others are first come, either way it is time consuming. Money is on the low side as with any milk hauler.
