    What are you duties and responsibilities?
    Safely operate a tractor trailer combination vehicle. Inspect vehicle and trailer for any mechanical defects prior and post operation. plan routes from 50 to 2500 miles. Communicate with customers and driver managers to ensure accurate pickup and delivery timeframes, alert of of any unscheduled delays and provide accurate availability of driver after a delivery has been made. Provide customers with exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction and maintain company image. Promptly review, complete and fax paperwork to ensure timely and accurate billing of clients.

    Did you receive on the job training?
    Yes. Quarterly.

    Where did you attend and which courses were studied?
    Swift training academy, Richmond VA. - learned how to pass DMV test.
    Schneider Orientation Training, Charlotte NC - covered the rest, including how to avoid hitting 14' bridges with a 13'6" truck.

    If you had opportunity to start a career again, would you do anything differently?
    Nope. I had a career, now I have a career I like more.

    What is the current starting wage for your position?
    .39cpm

    What are the working conditions of your position?
    14 hour average work days. 15-45 days at a time. Sleeping in truck required. Rarely, driver unloading of trailer is also required.

    What do you enjoy most about your job?
    Office culture is almost non existent. Able to work with no supervision or contact from management unless I initiate it. Get to see the interstates and compare different colors of pavement.
