    Must haves
    front axle 18k or 20k
rear 40k rear on springs or walking beam
true double frame if adding lift axle
as light as you can get it

Personally I wouldn't put anything less than 44's on any truck, especially something in a vocational application. 46k rears are pretty much standard on any stock ordered truck up here. Not really a fan of double frames. They start to rust in between the rails and they spread and the flanges lift. 3/8" thick frame, preferably 11"ish rail height would be better IMO.

Every single frame truck in my area that i have seen that has had a lift have broken frames usally between the hoist and lift axle.

Sure double frames can rust but if you take care of your truck it will be fine. 40k rears are the lightest I guess I dh o uld have specified. Take a truck with a 40k rear add a 20k lift and 20k front that's more than enough

Big cam 400 is a good motor and those year cummins are like chevy 350s easy to work on lots of parts available and not to expensive

Your not getting 26 ton legal in a triaxle, MA is good for 81,000 and we can barely get 25 in ours, you best learn your way around any scales

14k front with 46 rears and a 18-20k pusher is the norm up here on double frame even though I personally prefer a super single for rust
