If you are in Jacksonville it should be good Pipe country for flatdeck, chain and cable too. Straight to Houston and back with more.

Tanker work is special. The threat of being cremated doing your job wrong or just finished yelling (Fighting) with a tempestuous woman is not a good way to start your day.

You said you run fuel to feed the thirsty birds on the airforce line? Awesome. You should do well then.

Most of the tanker problems are cerebal. You will be hazmat, liquids, high center of gravity, super singles, disk brakes all round and on and on and on. My favorite is when a cell phone rings with you above the tank that is open below the farm's fueling line what with the fumes and static around you ready to blow.

Do you have dedicated routes and customers or is it like typical OTR where you wander around the country not knowing where you will go until someone tells you?.

$850 a week gross (how much is ins?) sounds low, but if that's the path to the $80k+ jobs I would take the cut in pay to get there.

Very true. Also, what you posted about backhauls is one thing I really liked about tankers. I never did a backhaul. I'd haul a load from TN to Los Angeles, then deadhead back to TN and it pays the same both ways. The customer pays for it, not the trucking company; it's all figured into the billing.

TWT has good equipment, mostly Volvos. They are all over the southeast. I think it was in Chinatown's list....?

No I am OTR pull wherever they need a load pulled. Usually you load out of your home terminal and deliver someplace in the United States then drive back empty to your home terminal for your next run.

Its not a bad gig, you get to see your house a little more due to the way we are dispatched.

They also have specialized drivers in the elite team but it takes experience or someone recommending you.

Also the quoted pay that you asked about was probably for a local only position at Trimac

Also for Trimac right now we are in our slow period from right before thanksgiving until after the new year

Apply online BUT go in person to terminal and ask to talk to someone about a job, just applying online you will usually not get a call back.

Im guessing they are wanting to see if you seriously want a job, if you do come look me in the eye lol

Thanks China! - Question: Out of the companies you listed here; Which ones would give the best opportunities to run all 48 including Canada runs, considering my location and all?
    - Also, I have TWIC and passport already, and am in my 2nd week of 4 week cdl school, I plan to get Hazmat and tanker endorsements soon after graduating- would you recommend applying now, even though I don't have my official cdl and endorsements yet?

Should get the endorsements now plus Passport or Passport Card for Canada entry.
You also need a TWIC ID Card which you can apply for at any TWIC office; Google for office near you.
Tanker outfits won't hire you without the endorsements. You can apply right now for tanker companies and probably get job offers contigent upon having the required endorsements.
    Superior-Carriers runs Canada
Trimac runs coast to coast and also has local/regional.

    FredZeppelin77 Thanks this.
