Actually though were pretty lucky knock on wood, our warehouse is semi automated which works great until a machine breaks down. Obviously with a manual pull warehouse you'll never have to worry about machines breaking down.

Had no problems getting out of the city but as soon as I crossed that ##### bridge into jersey I80 became a parking lot. Going through Paterson 4 lanes down to 1 cus of construction, not really even, just leaning on their shovels. Then about 15 miles before the water gap the same thing 3 lanes down to 1.
Last stop was over in washington heights 145th and Saint Nicolas. I should of listened to my gut and whipped a U turn hit the 145th st bridge and up 87 to 17 back to binghamton. 8 stops 890 cases 438 miles for the day (2 driver run) -
Your lucky @Mike2633 with that local stuff. With my 3 nyc trips a wk we do about 1300 miles and roughly 3500 cases a week. I have to dig up an old scale ticket thats 84k and change. That has to be over 50k in the box.
Happen to see any of these on your trip to md? http://i.skyrock.net/1428/27811428/pics/3123177991_1_3_W34oA4Wf.jpg -
I have seen those trucks in real life, I've seen them here in Ohio, not recently in Ohio, but they have been here in Ohio. I don't remember seeing any Willow Run Foods trucks in MD when I was there, but I know not to to long ago I saw one of your guys trucks.

Okay everyone I'm back from work today no need to worry (LOL!) left for work today at 1:17am they tempt on a Marriot and Police Station to the beginning of my day, today started off as a real PITA. Dark, late at night/early in the morning, my hand held was acting up and that cost me a 1/2 hour of time.
I have to ask a question and I am going to make a separate thread on this, but how much time and lost productivity is lost due to handhelds acting up?
Anyhow handheld acted up then what else, oh yeah no cargo lights in my trailer at all and a loader who was fed wrong from the selectors and did a very questionable job of loading, but we work through all of this and find a way to get it done. -
We do Maine all the way down to southern Virginia with the longer runs being double shut downs. I only do the 2 driver nyc runs so I can be home daily, living in the truck isn't for me. We have a fleet of 125 trucks. It's not the best company but at least everone knows your name and not just a numberMike2633 Thanks this.

What do you not like about them? Didn't you work for them before?

Great week so far.. Truck broke down yesterday during rush hour on the highway, Lost all power, dead in the water. Sat for 2 hours doing nothing until the wrecker came.. Turns out the turbo #### the bed.. Truck has 30k miles go figure..
Mike2633 Thanks this. -
The pay isn't the best for the insane amount of labor. 2 driver runs pay .20 cents a mile and 14 cents a case with a small on time bonus and perfect truck bonus. 55 a run per diem. Single driver run pays 23c mi and 23c a case and 40 per diem (80 for the wk vs my 165) and if you want to take a helper you only get 22c a mi and 13c a case.
We have something like a 200% turnover rate. A lot of dumb rules that don't need to be. Like say your early to a store, if that store has no problem with you delivering it early you won't get your on time bonus for that store. I have 3 pretty good runs, my dispatchers were happy as hell to have me back, I'm averaging 55-60 hours and clearing 900 after taxes with the per diem included in that. Some of the unlucky guys are doing 3 24hr+ runs a week. I like it better than otr though and its 9 miles from the house.Mike2633 Thanks this.
