I went to work for luther logistics, was fired for being late on a canadian load after being held up at the border for 4 hrs for immigration and customs screening, company was notified 9+hrs in advance load would be late and part of delay was dispatch's fault for telling me i didnt need a permit to run in canada,on the return load i was held up by customs for 7+hrs upon entering the us upon returning home and telling me i was fired they then kept my last two checks for a total of 2900.00 + and said they wernt paying any more drivers fines.and something else i found out, after telling me the cost of benifits was 26.00 a week and that they contributed half for them they let you know when you sign up for them that you must give up 1 cent per mile to get the benifits, i was told by others that the owner /mngr is a compulsive lier and a daddys boy

stevens transport is primarily a training company operating exclusively in refrigerated freight. if you are an unlicensed rookie with no experience, stevens driving school of texas offers a lengthy training program. you will be asked to take out a $5,000 loan to pay tuition. as long as you remain employed by stevens, stevens will pay a portion of the monthly loan note.

the driving school attrition and employee turn-over rates are phenomenally high. given the high volume of applicant students and stevens limited market share in refrigerated freight, a trainee's tenure is typically very short. stevens simply does not have enough trucks for everyone.

In all the years of experience that I have I can honestly say I have never worked for people as nasty or dishonest as the two of these men. They should not be in business and need to have their doors closed. They lie and the owner, Chuck Luther is bi-polar. His favorite vocabulary is vulgarity and he threatens his employees when he has to spend money. Their equipment is dangerous and under maintained and it does no good to write the truck up, they don't fix it. I do not even believe their mechanics are certified.
They run their drivers totally illegal and they is why they keep them. The drivers like the big pay-checks. Someone, one of these days is going to get killed and then what. As for the two owners, father and son. Need I say more.

I just joined this web site a few minutes ago looking for information on Luther Logistics before I went down there from my home in Muskegon to fill out an app. Whew. Thanx.
