Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

Good gravy have I had 2 days now of especially bad loads. Terrible loading today, I don't know who the novice was that loaded my trailer today, but they made an absolute mockery of it and it was the stupidest load too, I had a heavy, but not "over sized" freezer mixed with like nothing in the back. I opened up the back of the trailer it was half empty. However all that available cube and they crammed the freezer and did a half hazard job at that threw a bunch of the later freezer stops in the freezer side door so I got to touch all those cases 5 times. Which is bad because that's how boxes get destroyed and crushed.

The loader managed to destroy not 1, but pretty much 2 boxes of crackers, I don't know what this person was thinking threw a case of 6-10 cans right on top of a box of crackers totally destroyed it I credited it and wrote it in as damage by packer.

Yesterday I had my freezer fall over on me which is usually awful. I don't even bother saying anything though because frankly it doesn't mean anything the person who loaded my truck chances are won't be around longer then 6 months anyhow and so there always starting over on loaders and I just have to work around it.

I did, once I got 2/3rds through my day repacked my truck. I didn't have a heavy load today 566 cases pretty light really 11,000lbs, but for a light nothing load they managed to make it a total disaster.


In other news my "Air Control Box" under my cat walk went bad and normally I would just let that go till next time a PM comes, but it's leaking air really good and I asked my boss if it was possible to get that part fixed without having to send the truck away to the company shop especially since I just got it back from the shop and don't want it gone for another month while the shop does what ever it is they do.

He said "Yes that's not a problem call the shop and have them put in a PO for National Lease to come out and change the part in our yard." I said "Fantastic thank you."

So I called the shop and they put a work order out for National Lease to come out change the air box under the cat walk.

Today was pay day and bonus pay day. I don't want any one to worry have no fear so far this year I have managed to pay thus far $19,386.73 in taxes.
Hopefully and I don't think it will be a problem at all, I can pay over $20K in taxes this year.

 

I'm at about 17,300 give or take. Do you have local taxes up there?

 

Oh yes very much so I pay local taxes to the city of Valley View, Ohio where our drop yard is located. I also pay RITA for the city where I live a couple times a year.

 

I'm right behind you guys at $16K. Doesn't everywhere in OH have local tax rates? I paid local tax to Canton last year.

 

Taxes has ate 24K so far.

 

Yes Ohio has local income tax.
