24 y/o school bus driver arrested after 5 killed in rollover

It has a good dramatization of how it was being driven to get where it was.

 

I've seen videos of trailer DOT bumper tests. Some fracture at impact over ~35mph.

If anybody knows what's good for them they'll stay far behind a trailer cuz you will get your head chopped.

 

I have never seen a trailer DOT decap bar fracture. Ive had cars slam into that thing and take heads off and shove engine blocks far away and the whole thing turned into a pile of crushed beer can. What I have seen is #### few people come out of there...

The closest to failure I had with a DOT bumper was flat crazy, I hooked it on the right hand side against a concrete barrier badly placed on a bridge somewhere and #### near pulled me all over the rail but I ripped it off and the resulting damage was something that was a eyeful.

 

Made some changes I see.

In the old days those bars did not bend much.

The video has some good decap action vs the trailer's tail lights I see. That's only 35, try 50 or over.

 

This morning's news reports are saying that many kids on the bus reported that the driver screamed several times "are you ready to die" just prior to the accident. As a potential juror for a trial, this mofo gonna fry.

 

In Boston back in 1978 I was 18 yrs old and drove a school bus for Boston high schools we use to have police escorts cause people were against busing I had one scary moment in summer tunnel going alittle fast down grade traffic came to stop both feet on brakes even pulled emergency brake I stopped just in time . even today I wonder how did they allow an 18 yr old to drive a school bus I guess in hind site nobody wanted to do it because of all the problems . I am white and had to go pick up black kids to take to white neighborhoods I felt bad for the kids they didn't want to go . but none bothered me I had a big boom box on board for music they liked and allowed them to smoke pot as long as the windows we're open . again I felt bad and was doing what I could to help them cope with the sittuatiion .

 

and yet STILL no required seat belts

 

I have seen three school buses pull right out in front of me over the course of my long career. I ALWAYS had the right of way in every case. I run with my headlights ON all the time. I would NOT
put my kid on a school bus, ever.

Put the frakking seat belts IN and dont put old woman behind the wheel, which is what these drivers were. I have also seen a short-bus school driver run a RED light moving at least 10 MPH over the speed limit. Are theses people even drug tested or given road tests at all?

Kids dont want to wear the belts or use them to hit each other? Make the parents DRIVE them to school!!!

 

Doesn't make ANY sense does it? Adults have to buckle up, but kids in a school bus dont?
