You're welcome. I'm inspired by your resolve and persistence. Despite the roadblocks, I'm sure you'll make it happen.Road Killer Thanks this.

the difference between 4% and 50% is staggering are you even aware of 2290 tax-$550, registration fees about 1500+ Do you have repair skills .Do you have parking and shop space. Your enthusiasm will be used against you by everyone so keep it to yourself. No shame in asking for advise but be aware misguided questions will only yield misleading advise. 15 years experience should be enough but flesh out all aspects of that first lease, you can get in debt real quick that can ruin your life.Road Killer and ramblingman Thank this.

Are you currently a company driver? Probably would be a good idea to set some more aside for the business startup. It's good to be enthusiastic about it but it will also be nice to sleep at night once your up and operating and you experience your first set back. Trucks can sometimes have a way of kicking you in the balls really hard when you're least expecting it no matter how well you keep after them. Just saying. Best of luck to you and follow your dream.

I had a freind of mine who quit his job two days ago to my suprise...he told me he has $5,000 in his account and is going to buy a 2007 volvo with 900k+ miles for $15,000. I told him that a terrible idea , just stick with your company till you get enough , he currently makes about $1100/week. Some people like to learn their lesssons the hard way.
Road Killer Thanks this. -
That's probably a terrible idea. It would probably be smarter to put the $15k down on a brand new one, save the $5k for incidentals and just make the payment. Yeah not having a payment is nice but a truck like he's looking at will put him out of business. You gotta have lot of money in the bank to fix a cheap/old truck when it goes south on you. A lot of guys just don't want the headache and that's the reason old trucks are cheap. You buying a money pit than can quit on you at any time.Road Killer Thanks this.

Thank You Driver! I forgot a lot mechanic practice skills in US because I have been company driver for 16 years. I have knowledge and theory and practice from Ukraine. In my time I have been young driver at shop was 2 mechanics and mechanics do help to drivers repair they trucks, but all drivers have to do all major and minor repairs. And I hate that time because drivers have been stuck at shop for weeks because never had enough parts. It was Soviet Union nothing was private everything was Government property and no body was care.
I do not have my shop, I have live in townhouse with my wife and beutiful girls and son. I can not change oil and filter I need do that in shop, but fuel filter and minor repairs I can do. -
Or he can ignore you and the doomsayers and extreme negativity, and go about his business of achieving his dream. Reminds me of crabs in a bucket. Some people will fail, some will succeed and some don't even try. Does someone "need" repair skills and a shop to be successful? I'll answer it for you; No. Keep his enthusiasm to himself? Seriously? Your life experiences must have been quite traumatizing. Tax and registration fees are by no means insurmountable. Good grief!

I have been today at my local Bank and first time open my Business Account. After that Bank manager did call to Lender and ask him for loan for my own truck. They ask me for 10% down from truck price, new or used, and this will be interest 5.8% for 7 years with free pre pay penalty fee. I am awaiting for my approval for a week.
