As a FYI. Mr. Holland will reimburse meals for any drivers and spouses who run over Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holidays.

    Dharok Thanks this.

If you think every truck in a mid size 48 state refrigerated carrier fleet should park for 3-5 days each around both the holidays then Holland is not a good fit for you. Stay where you are, where customer service takes back seat to everything else. How do you think all that food was on your table yesterday and all the restaurants will have food to serve from now until Christmas?

I guess the magic fairy will get all the JIT and perishable freight moved? SMH

I was told 3 to 4 weeks minimum, asked if 25 days out was good, then 3 days home and incorporate a weekend in that and I was told yes, that was based off me living in Western Pa

The positives as of late, I actually hit 6600 miles in the last 15 days. The negative is the runs (with deadhead) have been 900, 2000, 1400, 1100, 1200 and the next one is 800. Obviously the overall miles are the important thing but from what I hear people saying it sounds like I'm one of the few people grinding out shorter stuff. My average length of haul is 1300

    Got some shorter runs.
Picked up in Mass to Minessota.
    From Minnesota to Chicago
Then from there to Southern Georgia.
    Tommorow back up to Minessota.

Getting decent runs but a lot of down time... Have to wait till Sunday 0430 to unload, then Monday 0500... Freaking blows. Didn't make appointment time because truck had to go to Detroit.

Hopefully after this load I can get back on a good track... It sucks to have to chase them for layover pay... Wish they'd just send it with load when they know you're going to be sitting for a weekend...

3-4 is minimum as stated in the application.. I think mostly everyone stays 4-6.. I can stay out for a while as long as they swing me by the house I don't mind.
