I somehow can't help but feel bad for that driver. What a terrible ordeal. You should have shown him how to use the (customer not releasing empties button) in the exceptions page. Lol. The only thing that surprises me about this story is box actually knew you had a empty.

The driver was a great guy, we talked for awhile in between the BS back and fourth with our dispatch. I didn't care about giving him the MT but schneider told me I couldn't BT into my PU when the customer was fine with it, also told me they never received any call asking if it was ok. Nothing surprises me with sni

 

Anybody with the espar bunk heater ever have it shut off after a few minutes and say "no flame detect"??

 

T_T.....have you been using it or is this the first time you fired it up? They get gummed up with fuel from sitting if it isn't "excersised" during the warm months and can cause issues.

ETA....fire it up and go outside and see if it's white smoking like a trash fire while trying to light...if it is then the combustion chamber is plugged/carboned up and needs cleaned. You can try running kerosene through it to see if it will clean up but at that point it's doubtful.

 

And if you were resetting your hours?

 

Mine too, in fact I've been home since Tuesday with an mt.

 

I had to change the filter and igniter last year. The filter is a pain in the ### to change. You can find videos on YouTube on how to do it. The igniter was easy though.

 

Espar heaters require a "cool down" period of 3 - 5 minutes, in order to burn off the remaining fuel after it is shut off. If the ignition key is turned on before it finishes, the remaining fuel will set and become sticky.

I've explained it to several drivers who said they had no knowledge of the heater's need for a "cool down." When asked if they ever read the manual for it, they had no knowledge of that either.
