FYI....Since I've started applying to certain companies and contacting them with inquiries, I've had more than half send me links to various trucker forums that post student diaries or general info about their company.
So "they" do read what is posted.
AND just a helpful reminder re social media. Don't post ANY pic that be traced back to you via reverse image search lest you want to be identified.Road Killer Thanks this. -
I did a lot of research on this site before making my decision. That was 5 years ago and I'm still driving for Maverick.
lip zee, G13Tomcat and Road Killer Thank this. -
If you can prove you were slandered by one company to another or dac ( lower case to show disrespect) , you can sue them.

Nov. 14th I learned the hard way,JS HELWIG, who I thought was an excellent company watches FB and this site. We got paid 2 times a week(Tues and FRi) a friend of mine who was thinking about coming over had no way of actually seeing anything except for laptop(still has an old flip phone) so I took a picture of the Tues and Friday before the 14th and put on my own personal FB page, made my del to SC then went back to Tx. Monday the 14th found out they were letting me go for that (they thought I was talking negative about the company, the way I look at it can't hide the truth did not have more then 2400 miles, been that way for almost 5 weeks got paystubs to prove it) and for complaining about my miles which were down from around 3500 to less then 2500...What really made me laugh was their Operations Manager thinks 11,500 mile month is a great month for a veteran driver. Do you know anyone that would be happy with that?

I for one don't blame the companies for coming here and looking. They also look at Facebook, Twitter, etc. I believe the way drivers get caught by their employers is that they become known for complaining about anything and everything and what they say here, sticks out like a sore thumb.
I understand that some are unhappy and sometimes it may be best to just keep that to one's self. To come here and slam a company in a way, makes that person look bad. To come here and post in forums where newbies are lurking, trying to do their research hurts the industry.
This industry needs these new people to carry it on when some of us are too old to. This industry gets no real acknowledgement from our own Government and everything our Government does is aimed at cutting us down.
We need drivers to come together, new and old and stand up for our industry and get our due and when unhappy drivers rear their angry heads, it does nothing but hurt us all.
