Offcoarse the exchange rate is biggest factor.

    No,not basic trucks.
Full cab fairings and sideskirts .
    Ref under the bed.
    2 beds.
    Electric windows and roof hatch.
    Webasto nightheater.
    Smart cruisecontrol.
    Radio
Not shure if they have the phonemodule.
And buying a truck without airsuspension controls is impossible here.
    What else do you need?

Just took a quick glance. Those are used trucks. When i filtered for a scania tractor not a single new truck showed up. Some almost new did, but only single screw no (or so small it counts as no) sleeper.

My search skills and amount of give a @#$% are to low to find a new euro that closely resembles a US class 8 otr tractor. If you care enough to find one, for me too even consider it as comparable, it's gotta be a tandem,(tag or lift axle is fine) and have a minimum of 60 inch sleeper. 14k lb+ front axle, 34lb+ tandem. Or as close to that as they use over there.

The only thing that really scares me is the electrical. A few places I worked at had some European equipment and they were forever plagued with electrical problems. Everything from fried modules to burnt wiring harnesses. The worst was that everything seemed to use printed circuit boards with intergrated relays and circuit breakers. We got tired of forking out $1000+ dollars for new boards every year because a relay would burn up or stick, so we just tossed them and installed traditional relay blocks and fuses. Much more reliable.

Nah. Don't need that. I could make due with 450, tho would prefer 500 to match what i already have. And don't want chrome or stainless. When i bought this truck new i specifically ordered it with the least amount of shiny. I do not like spending my weekends polishing.

Yep. They are way to integrated. There is no reason the freaking headlights, wipers and power windows need to be integrated into the same circuits as the engine ecm.

I think part of the issue is all manufacturers are cheaping out on build quality. I work for a division of a large Cat dealer network and I see all kinds of questionable stuff done there too. Of course, Cat no longer builds half their own equipment anymore.

I agree. Nothing is built as good as it used to be.
