Most of those companies are owner operator companies and very particular about who they hire. Generally you do not get into high end enclosed automobile transport without a long history of damage free open deck hauling and steady work history. Then you need the money and credit to drop $350-500 grand on a rig.
Intercity does have a company driver division, if I remember correctly you must live in either Arizona or Michigan, be willing to be on the road for 3 months at a time, and have a spotless work history with no more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years. I don't believe Horseless Carriage has company drivers anymore, but I may be wrong. OOIDA columnist for Land Line Magazine, Dave Sweetman has been leased on with the forever.
Reliable may have a company driver position and I think they have a lease purchase program, not a typical one like the mega freight boys but more of helping you obtain traditional financing on equipment.
All of these companies require your equipment to be painted in their livery, no exceptions, and you will have a lot of down time just sitting and waiting for a trade show or tour to wrap up. You really will not hear about the good ones, they don't have to advertise for work or drivers/contractors as they usually have a waiting list for both customers and drivers several years long. -
Speaking of high end haulers, what ever happen to Robert Pass Transport out of St Louis area, we used to do most of there large vehicle moves but that was years ago, they were bought out by I believe UPS and I never got a call after that?

I spoke with one of the big classic car haulers today, they have some regional work but they want me to upgrade to a 2010 or newer. I'm not confident enough it would be worth the investment, I'm avg 160k home nightly vs 190k home occasionally my current payment is 1300 vs 1800-2000Terry270 Thanks this.
