That's entirely irrelevant. Alaska is a completely different situation. If you don't have your #### wired tight, especially in regards to your attitude/skillset, the roads will kill you. They're really narrow, windey, soft shoulders suck you in, and onciming drivers don't have room to pass nicely. Mirrors touch often.

It seems like a great bucket list item, but don't even think about trying it alone. First, go with a seasoned veteran.

Drove it 4 times, it sucks in winter, best route is through Canada running the Alcan. Pop out in Whitehorse, then head to yukon 1 then signs will lead you to Fairbanks or Anchorage.
    Enter Canada through Alberta/Calgary.
Bring lots of fuel money, chains, food.

    Remembered what happened.
He cleaned the snow out from around his truck and trailer so he could leave. Forgot to check up under his stepdeck low pro trailer, it was packed with ice and while he was driving it fell down and took the air lines with it.
I would only take my first trip during the summer, than maybe a trip in the winter.
Just take your time, Good luck.
