I have a 2007 Volvo 630 with the VED12 and when I start it in the morning it starts but then it stutters and sometimes turns off like one minute after starting. It seems to be getting worse as it turns over now but seems starved for fuel. I put on a new fuel pump and new accessory drive, I can't find any fuel leaks any Ideas? all replies are appreciated.

Check your fuel lines, the rubber lines get old and weak and collapse.

Mine was taking air through a manual pump on the filter housing but that also a symptoms of bad injector cups.

My 2008 D12 in the last 30 days has had the fuel filter housing replaced.. same reason as the post above.. leaking air thru the manual prime pump... and now she's in shop getting a new fuel pump, replacing drive gear and the fuel line was in rough shape as well. My mechanic that specializes in Volvos says injector problems with these engines are very uncommon. Normally has to do with the wiring harness.

When you crank the engine start pumping the prime button and see if fuel starts coming out by the springs.. if so replace the housing. Takes like 30-45 mins (2 tall boys of bud light). It is notorious for being faulty but I'm pretty sure like the fuel pump it's an updated design. Volvos pretty good about that

i work for volvo and the 12d motors injectors cups do fail but they can be just cleaned and reseal the injectors and reinstalled , if you have racor filter the frame rail right front make sure it is clean , there is a check valve on the inlet side that can get plugged, good luck
