Kids playing with matches is what the news said tonight. Wasn't premeditated and will be tough to prove intention. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

 

If that's the case, man i got a hard time coming down hard on them. What kid doesn't play with matches a time or two? The only reason i didn't burn my farm down as a kid is my dad saw the smoke while it was still small enough to be contained. Kids do stupid #### with no intentions of causing harm.

 

Truer words have yet to be spoken.

 

They are not "kids"....by "kids" I mean "kids". They are not 8 or 9 year old "kids" that screwed up by being curious.
They are teenagers, that started fires in four different locations and killed 14 people and destroyed over 1000 homes.
They deserve the fullest extent of the laws punishment.

 

I can't remember the last time I seen a book of matches.

 

Ya, the only place I've seen them in the past few years is at Casinos.

 

If you think kids or teeenagers deserve the death penalty you're an idiot.. That would mean you never did nothing stupid in life lol...I was a troublesome kid... Played with matches and even put a pop tart in the oven with the aluminum still covering and nearly blew the microwave up... If that has burned the whole block of houses down I don't think that would warrant the death penalty

 

Reports said 15 and 17 yrs old, walking along chimney tops trail lighting and dropping matches.

There's supposed to be video from a 3rd person who was filming as the 15 and 17 yr old laughed and joked about it.

Again just unofficial reports.

It'd be near impossible to charge them with the deaths, officials have said all along the wind was knocking down power lines causing fires also.

 

Sure doesn't sound like "kids playing with matches", to me.

 

Doing something stupid is one thing, deliberately setting 4 separate fires is INTENT!! Also, how old are these teens, have they been in trouble before? Death penalty? No. But the punishment should fit the crime. And be most severe. That was 14 homicides by arsen plus millions in damages.

This is just another example of the lack of discipline and failed parenting. I know if that was my child, I'd be the one going to jail.
