Absolutely! I surely remember that. I awkwardly miss that. By the way, I wanted to congratulate you the other day, welcome aboard brother. I also work out of the Norfolk Southern Morrisville, PA ramp and the CSX South Philly ramp too. Feels good to be back home and in the intermodal scene again after 2 years. JB Hunt is a mega carrier but is a descent place to work regardless what others say. We Intermodal guys get treated better than the OTR guys.

Slip-seat with JB in Winter Haven averaged $900 gross for 5 days working. So $180 per day avg on a 12 hr day. Slip-seat stinks. Loads are random so a set start time is not possible.

And Winter Haven is Not a drop and hook rail. Much of the time your on the crane line getting loaded, unloaded, or Both. A lot of waiting. Averaged less than 300 miles per day.

Is that how it is for every company or just JBI?

The railyard is the same for everyone. We were daycab slip-seat. Our longest longest load was just over 100 loaded. 99% of the time you deadhead back. Most loads are less than 50 miles loaded. Tampa, Orlando, and Lakeland. Usually 3 loads per day. So you deal with the railyard a bunch. There are a lot of O/O sleeper trucks that I'd assume pull the longer runs. Getting in and out of the railyard will run anywhere from 30 minutes to 3hours. There is a multitude of variables, but on average probably about 1 hr. So of course rail delay pay starts after 1 hr.
