Midwest Freezing rain forecasted Friday

It just happens I live in Sioux City,what are the odds,lol.Anyway it's currently snowing.Spose to get 2 to 4 inches.It was snowing heavy now it's let up some.Mon thru Wed spose to be sunny and in the 30s.Tomorrow I think it'll just be cold.

 

Northern iowa always gets hit hard but here in Sioux City it's just a normal winter and the plows are real good about keeping the roads cleared.Snow was coming down good but the temperature isn't too bad.

 

any drivers between peoria il. & stl. mo? maps show some patches slick. just wanted live road report. thx

 

cant give a live report but the idot map shows springfield to the gateway looking bad. yellow (patches) to just south of springfield. red (covered) the rest of the way down.

 

thanks, stl. /metro area road reports were showing speeds approx. 5 to 10 mph in spots on I-55 from x41 to their metro area. up here near peoria couple of nasty spots.

 

I'm coming up on 2 months experience moving trailers around the yard at work. Today was my first time in freezing mist. I kept the pedal at a comfortable 2.5-3 mph for most of the night. Got complacent for a moment, fortunately w/no trailer on my back, took a turn at 5 mph and nearly went sideways. It took a lot of time and salting the lot to be able to safely drive 5 mph. It blows my mind how people can safely haul doubles in these conditions, can't wait till I get my cdl!

 

Yep, Ohio DEFINITELY got the freezing rain tonight. I drive nights, left early and returned home early.
My dispo is decent, thank God. I'll finish my runs tomorrow. It was like rollerskating on marbles for awhile...doing 30 mph with 4-ways on, and the idiots going around me. 4's AND 18's. I'm home safe; been for 2 hours.

Off this weekend thank goodness. Got off early Friday was out at our sub yard in the LC Friday so I wasn't at the main yard in Cleveland. Our branch Cleveland controls two sub yards one in Lorain County and another in Ashtabula County. Usually I stay put in Cleveland and rarely do I go to Ashtabula, but a couple times a year I get to go out to Lorain as it's eqidistant from where I live.

Anyhow I missed all that mess, looks like everything has warmed up now, I saw a bunch of slop and crap has fallen off my car LOL!
