The ELD's and possible Limiters are on the ATA and Mega-carriers.........A Bunch of crybabies that want all the freight
They cant handle the fact that True Blue Truck Drivers that know the streets and what it takes as a professional is too much for them to ingest.
It markets them better to Merry-go-round inexperienced people Who may-may not get the job done right.
It will Backfire..Mark My Words

In California, the CHP has a policy that at the officers discretion, they may add certain equipment. A CB radio is in the list. the only criteria is it must be easy to remove. No permanent installs. If you see a CB antenna they are listening.
-
Montana MCS has both CB and VHF in their trucks.
TripleSix Thanks this. -
Some do monitor the CB and I don't have a problem with that. One told me to slow it down and he was right, I'd let the speed sneak up on me.
Another driver I worked with was bragging that he was 5000 lbs over on the drives and it wasn't long before he was pulled over and checked with portable scales. Super big fine for him and the company. -
some Oregon highway patrol have cb in there cop cars how do I know got yelled at for speeding by one right before Christmas no ticket been hard to splain that to wife hey honey guess what I got
-
Sure they do. Are you kidding?
Once in a while the Law talks to you for a favor, not too often. Your rig is good for many things against a bad guy trying to get away. Those stories do not make the net.
There is one case I recall well, CT, we were a herd elephant nose to tail at high speed in CT on the construction gunning for the GWB early one morning in the middle. It was a time of reconstruction and all the reflective tape was mixed together so we stayed between the walls where the middle was.
A bunch of bears, 20 plus lined up in the hammer lane and I got on there saying to convoy looks like we are all fixing to be collared.. the Law got on there and told us settle down, they had a specific car they wanted in the right lane filled with men. So they spaced us on the left and we opened up the room between cabs and trailers in front, the police jumped through surrounding the bad guys. They had no chance.
If we were rolling before, we were gone then. I recall some of the newer 500 cats getting nosing into the front might as well, that big cam could give maybe 90 or so at most lol.QuietStorm Thanks this. -
Wisconsin State Police listen. I had one ask me to hold traffic back in a backup so that he could get by to an accident ahead
scottied67 Thanks this. -

That's why when I come up on a drunk I just put the 4 ways on, stay a safe distance behind him, and call him in.
I was running the 2 lanes in I believe nc one day and I was the faster truck but the other truck running with me picked the better lane in a town and passed me. We were running about 62 in a 55 and I had about 5 truck lengths between us. Out of the woods comes a bear with his lights on and stays behind the truck in front of me. There was nowhere to pull over and I kept hearing someone telling the truck where some good areas were up ahead. I was talking to the truck as well and talking trash about how he'd probably get a ticket for not stopping soon enough and stuff. Well the other voice comes back and says why would I ticket him for that if I'm telling him to do that? I about shat myself and said sotto Mr smokey bear I didn't know that was you talking to him. Be safe I'm out. And then I ####. Lol -
I know that md and sc use too.
