I didn't start this petition. Just thought I would let people know about it. It is for the new Presidential administration asking for the regulations used against us by the FMCSA, DOT, and the EPA to be deregulated.

I know that a lot of people don't think petitions do anything, but it couldn't hurt to sign it. Especially since it is already over 115,000.

Hmmm... Name and email address. I seriously doubt that this has any sort of legal standing, but it *is* an effective tool to collect a mailing list of truckers...

We're easy victims for just about everything, from phishing and computer hacking/fraud, to 419 scams, and here we are, signing up for a mailing list...

Can't hurt. You know, if there is really any truth to it... at all...

How up-to-date is *your* antivirus software, on your phone? I'll just link you to a free app that will infect - er, I mean protect - you, right over here...

    :p

Just create a one time use email address, or use a fake one, or better yet just click the sign button which I did.

That pretty much guarantees that this petition has no legal standing, since it makes signatures impossible to verify... :)

I'm guessing that clicking the "SIGN" registers your IP/mac address so clicking multiple times would be a waste of time.

That would screw with people who pass through ISP or content-caching/filtering proxies. MAC address isn't transmitted beyond the first switch or router, so it would have to be IP address. MAC is easy to spoof, anyway.

But imagine all of the cellular users, passing through a proxy, and getting their signatures invalidated because of it. I'm guessing that most truckers are on cellular Internet... but truck stop WiFi isn't usually any different. They use a proxy to redirect you to their login/signup page, if your MAC hasn't authenticated, yet, so everyone at the truck stop is likely to be on the same IP address - sometimes, everyone on any WiFi connection within the truck stop chain.

It's advertising, not politics, and we should expect it to be aimed more at us, than at Trump or anyone else. This is not how you deliver a political message to the White House; it's how you deliver a marketing message to drivers.

The technical term for it is "clickbait", but it's worse than that, because it also collects a mailing list, which can only be useful for future marketing... to truck drivers.

    We're being played as suckers.
