Fueling at the flying j when the same guy who approached me earlier says "I'm not asking for money but can I polish your wheels and tanks for a few bucks?" #### no.

A panhandler once asked me (as I'm getting out of my truck), "so, you drive a truck huh?"
Knucklehead, TequilaSunrise, Raezzor and 3 others Thank this. -
Last summer had a large unkept woman, with 2 snotty nosed kids, a drooling rottweiler with gas. Ask if she could clean up the inside of my cab. I didn't have to think long on that one.

Wasn't at a truck stop but this one still makes me shake my head.... when I started with Marten I had 5 months and some change experience, just short of their 6 month requirement, so they sent me out with a trainer for a few weeks. We had just pulled into their yard near Stockton I think, one they share with CRE. Anyway, this shiny new Cascadia pulls up in front of us and this guy stops and gets out. Says to us, "Hey, does this sound bad to you?" He hops in and hits his service brakes. You would think, from the cloud of dust being blown out from under his front axles, that his parking brakes were under there and he just set them. Me and the trainer just looked at each other. My trainer says, "Ayup, that's a pretty major air leak you got there...."
Turns out he just leased the truck, just finished training in it (with one of their "mobile, in truck trainers") and had brought a 45k lb load from SLC to Stockton.... and complaining the whole way how he couldn't maintain air pressure anytime he used his brakes.... across I80... and Donner... as a newb....
Gotta hand it to him though, he enjoyed the trip and made if ok.Knucklehead and Lepton1 Thank this. -

Some guy came up with a scale ticket and asked if he could slide the tandems to make it legal. His thumb was covering up the gross weight, it was about 1200 over gross.
He was in his 50's and didn't strike me as bieng green. I think he was just messing around to have fun with people.Flashdrive7 Thanks this. -

Standing in line at the store counter. Leaving a little room for people to walk past. The dude behind me asks "Are you in line?"
6daysontheroad, TequilaSunrise and skellr Thank this.
