There's no catch to it I did it for 91/2years.as said by others is true. Some take your health&welfare no matter what which my company did & put it for your ins.&401k like or not because that's what postal put it there for and the contractor can do no matter if your spouse has coverage.23-27an hour pay ,no overtime, get paid federal holidays extra 8hrs.,but you WILL go everyday.I.went from NC. To GA.laidover came back next day..Off 22hrs. And did again, nothing unloading, just roll to dockplate, they jerk skids, some RTS.like usual ly had about 8 apc's (carts) and5 skids unload time 15mins. If you're not arelay you'll layover and pickup after that, same thing day after day.No matter the weather, you WILL go,unless it is to snowey or icey, but remember when you get behind postal will be calling telling your Co. that once it's save ,they there mail and have to catch up on loads that's been delayed.I didn't worry to much about logs because l had no check of my logs not much, why, because they couldn't do much with the mail,I think that's changed because postal put computers on them.I use to go thru ATL. on 20 while cops were pulling big trucks except me.you layover on Xmas or thanksgiving.Good luck!

Paid for all hours unless you get delayed, these are postal contract routes. You get paid for hours for contract.Youll know this before you take its no secret,SAMO day in& day out,but you do holiday pay also.

Well, it seems what was supposed to be a 4 day work week with two 580 mile turns has turned into a clusterfart.

Now I'm being told that I'll be doing turn, day off, turn, day off, turn, day off...

Which makes for no two days off in a row.

Of course, the woman telling me this is a recruiter and doesn't really "know."

So, if it's 3 turns/ week or 2 1/2 then the hours have to be greater than the 2 turns/ week at 47 hours.

Anyway, might as well see how it works out.

Well like I said earlier you usually start out on a run older guys don't want.Just takes a while to work up the seniority board.Just depends on how many runs your carrier has.personally I would rather have that run then work the extra board.

Anyone know if they're hiring in the Hampton Roads area in Virginia??

I think I've seen a place in Norfolk that alot of them come out of... Might have to pay them a visit...

    Anyone know the requirements??

There's a center in Norfolk I would go to.you can't get in the gate .Could sit in parking lot and get names of company's and maybe talk to drivers it would be better to get Co.names and call about openings since the security might not want you hanging around to long. It's a really small center unless they've moved it.cant remember location just goggle mail centers/Norfolk VA I guess.Usual qualifications+background check for any legal stuff.beam brothers, finkle are a couple of carriers.Good luck
