I think that pulling a reefer is either a love or hate relationship.

I like reefer a lot too and must have been lucky myself. Most of my live load/unloads have been 3 hours or less. I'm highly selective in the ones I book though and certain that has something to do with my luck, making my own so to speak. I also run dry van. Whichever is paying best at the moment. I actually get much better rates with the van but reefer freight is more consistent with solid rates especially on longer runs.

Anything that will go in van or reefer is usually a cheap junk load of some commodity. Only rarely do you ever see something like bottled water which will load on a van or reefer paying way over the top rates. Only when trucks are scarce and the product is desperately needed. Most of my best paying van loads will not go in a reefer. You just have to be highly selective, know your market well enough, and be aggressive to get solid rates with a van trailer. Actually that goes for any trailer I'm sure but vans much more so.

If your hourly (Which We Don't believe) You wouldn't be on a truckers report Saying "I love reefer"
My thinking is you are sportin' 1200 mile trips and i'll give it 6 months you'll be back here saying "I Hate Reefer and the lumpers that go with it"

Heroin, or it's derivative, morphine, and some cough syrups containing DXM - regular users of this are called 'junkies'...... Not someone that smokes a bit of weed.

You sound like Adam Sandler's mom in 'Waterboy': For The Devil!!!!!!

Please. I hope you're just being goofy.

I don't mind reefer. It's not for everyone, kinda like flatbed. I tried flatbed and promptly quit after maybe a month. You can have those #### tarps. lol

Reefer has it's moments too, however. The very sound or sight of "Americold Storage" makes the hair on my neck stand on end. My latest adventure with that pathetic outfit was in Atlanta. Took me 8 hours to get loaded. Had a 2100 appt. Got there at 2015. Got a door immediately and sat there for 9 hours (8 hrs past my appt.). Got out of there around 0530 by the time I shut my doors and did my loaded call.

@Frank Speak....What would happen if you decided to locate another load during those 8hrs? and if confirmed, you decide to go for it?

Would the broker get you more $$ to keep you...given that I keep reading that detention fee is a hit/miss?

Full disclosure: I dont drive yet...but have a 6-month old CDL
