What Koltrucker wrote is spot on.
You will get plenty of miles with Prime on the tank side.
Plus it's foodgrade over running hazmat or chem loads.
But be prepared to run the northeast.
Which isn't that bad once you get use to it.

I've talked to quite a few Schneider Bulk guys and the company guys all say the same thing.
Low miles and lots of sitting.
I was considering going to schneider for the bulk choice program but not sure as it's new.

That's what I'm kinda debating, more miles w/Prime or fewer miles but hazmat experience w/pumpkin.

I only worked for Schneider Bulk so I can't compare but I didn't regret my choice. Schneider was good to me. You have to fight for miles sometimes but as long as you aren't shy or easily shut up you will be fine.

Can I just point out, in tanking it isn't always about miles like dry vans. There's going to be more sitting. I've run 2500-2600 miles tanking and felt like I ran 4000.

Either way you go, you can carry over your experience to another tanker outfit. There's only a few chemical haulers that require actual chemical experience. Personally, I'd go the chemical route, but I don't really know the food side of tanks.

What about the job made it feel like you ran more miles than you actually did?

Consider you have load times and then unload times, which can be long sometimes. I run regional, so it's a lot of 300-400 miles runs which it's a lotis of running out and back.

I believe that week I did 2 pumps loads and 2 compressor loads, so there was lugging all the hoses around also. Each pump load took at least 80 ft hose.

I'm enjoying my time here with Schneider Bulk. Will make 7 months on Dec. 23. Yea you have to fight for miles but if you are persistent & on top of your DBL they will keep you rolling. It's slow now for the winter I've been averaging about 1000-1700 miles a week for the past 3 weeks.
