What is adjust the overhead? And when you grease your truck do you use a grease gun and shoot it into the grease fittings where they are and then just spread it anywhere else that could use it?

Road Killer Thanks this.

I've seen Swift & Schneider selling their fleet trucks at very decent prices. Would you grab one of those? Or go with Lone Mountain used?
I know getting service records is key in all these options, but based on what you are saying, it's prolly best to go new (ouch) -
Most fleet trucks are maintained just enough to make the trade cycle, nothing more.

Go look at Lone Mountain's used inventory. Many of them are indeed fleet trucks with approximately 475,000 miles and no more warranty left. Look at the 2013 Volvo 730's.
Plus they want $66,000 for them. Way overpriced.
They obviously came from a big fleet.
One wonders why there are so many bad reviews about Lone Mountain, from people getting a used truck and having mucho problems right off the bat.
At least their new trucks, the interest rate equates to about 2.1% on the new Volvo 780's, if you figure $130,000 + the 12% tax.Road Killer and nax Thank this. -
I'll stick with my paid for ole truck that I can do 90% of the work that needs to be done on my own.
I could go get a brand new truck, but with e-logs coming in next year, the uncertainty with the economy, I think I'll be running away from trucking in December 2017.BoyWander Thanks this. -
Some of you are going to find this funny and hard to believe but I've been leased onto Prime going on 3yrs now and haven't grossed less than $220,xxx. Haven't netted less than $90,xxx. For some reason O/O have such a hard time believing that. I got Contractor of the Year my second year there (last year) so maybe it's just me. My buddy who trained me there does just as good but he owns his truck.

what's your average rate per mile? $220,000 down to 90k doesn't seem like something I'd brag over unless you're inside a brand new 2017 Pete/Ken with all the bells whistles/chrome and your factoring those payments out of that 220k to get you to 90k.
If that's the case, then I'm impressed. -
